CORNELL UNIVERSITY INCIDENT
On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, a student at Cornell University was standing alongside a group of fellow undergraduates, holding up signs and participating in demonstrations in support of Israel. All of a sudden, he was threatened by a woman, who said that she was going to slap him. This particular woman supported Palestine, so the two individuals were at opposing ends of the Israel-Palestine argument.
That same day, another pro-Israeli student was splashed with water and had a sign torn from his hands. Not only does this incident reflect how some anti-Semitic attacks are violent, but it also shows how the assailants have denied the pro-Israeli students of their First Amendment right to free speech.
